Healing starts from the balance
In East Asian Medicine, there is a concept of Yin and Yang.
Body Manifestation of Yin and Yang
Yang nature tends to be warm and dry. A yang person has a warm body temperature with a fast metabolism. Due to its dry nature, this person tends to have dry skin or firm muscle with hard stool. On the other hand, Yin nature tends to be cold and wet. A yin person has a cold body temperature with a slow metabolism. Due to its damp nature, this person has moisture skin or soft muscle with soft stool.
Mind Manifestation of Yin and Yang
Yang nature tends to be masculine. A yang personality is outgoing, initiating with a loud voice. A Yin personality tends to be feminine. A yin person is introverted and passive with a soft voice.
There is no superior or inferior. It is what it is.
How to make the balance?
Once we know our tendency, the principle of the treatment begins. For example, If a person is warm or hot, it can dry up the muscle and create muscle tightness. Since the hot nature is going up direction combined with computer and cell phone usage, it can generate stress, irritability, and insomnia. Therefore, they need cooling herbs or food with lifestyle modifications such as deep breathing, meditation, or swimming to cool down.
It is all about balance and moderation. Not too cold, Not too hot.
Identifying the condition's cause is vital in Korean Herbal Medicine.
Decode your organ imbalance!
You are unique. Each person is born with a different combination of organ strengths and weaknesses. East Asian medicine's pathology covers more aspects of organ functions than Western medicine.
Body Manifestation of Five Elements
The Liver stores and regulates the blood and Qi flow. Stress is the major enemy of the Liver since it blocks energy flow. Your nerve signals cannot be relieved effectively with stress. It controls sinews, so liver imbalance generates issues in joints. Since the nail is a surplus of blood, you may have brittle and dry nails with Liver imbalance. It connects with Eyes. You may have blurry vision or poor vision from a young age.
The Heart governs blood circulation. When there is an imbalance in the Heart, you experience chest pain or palpitation. In Asian medicine, the Heart houses the spirit. When a house is too cold, too hot, or too noisy, we cannot sleep. Therefore, we must provide a pleasant home environment for the Heat to sleep well. The spirit manifests in your complexion. When the Heart is balanced, you can have a smile and a happy face.
The Spleen or Stomach governs digestion and transforms food into an energy source. You may have a stomachache or acid reflux, indigestion or bloating, constipation or diarrhea when the digestive organs are imbalanced. This organ dominates muscles and four limbs. You may have muscle weakness since the food source cannot transform into energy.
The Lung governs respiration. You may have Asthma, Shortness of Breath, or wheezing with Lung organ imbalance. The air is as essential as food. Human is between Heaven and Earth. We got Earth's energy from the food and Heaven's energy from the air. Air is the primary source of Qi that we cannot see but exist. When Qi is weak, you may have immunity issues such as frequent colds or infections. The Lung controls the skin and opens into the nose. Therefore, we need to look at the Lung when there is a sinus infection.
The Kidney governs water metabolism. The Kidney filters water and decides how much water hold in the body through urination. Frequent or night urination is a sign of a weak Kidney. The Kidney is like a water reservoir. When the water saving is low or depleted, cells do not have enough moisture to function from dehydration. It diminishes your energy, motivation, stamina, and libido. The Kidney connects the reproductive organs, which may cause infertility and prostate/uterus issues.
The issues can be from the specific organ system's weakness or attacks from the robust organ system. We must look at the whole picture of why you have an imbalance in a particular organ system.
